The CNL Corporate Aircraft Facility is a 39,000 sf project consisting of a 25,000 sf hangar and 14,000 sf of Class A offices and support areas. The facility is the largest and most complicated aviation complex constructed at the Orlando Executive Airport. The facility is a Group II aircraft hangar for storing and servicing of fueled aircraft. Because of this classification, installation included four foam cannons in the hangar in addition to the standard fire protection. These cannons were for the suppression of fuel generated fires.
Adjacent to the facility, a 30 foot tall, 35,000 gallon water tower was installed to ensure adequate supply and pressure in case of an event. The water is supplied from the tower to the facility. Foam proportioners inject the foam in the risers as it heads to the cannons. A trench drain at the front of the hangar collects the spent foam and segregates the oil from the water for proper disposal. The hangar includes a motorized sliding and stacking Aero hangar door that can be stacked to either side. The project also required the removal and reinstallation of two 50 ft site lights used for the adjacent taxiway.
